Shin Guards Rule for 2010 Season
Attention: All Associations
We are about to embark on another season of ball hockey and I would like to bring the following rule to everyones attention from the 2009-2010 rulebook. This is not a rule change year and thus this rule has been in place for over a year and will be strictly enforced this upcoming season including: all regular season, provincials, western challenge cup and Nationals.
Under the minor and woman ball hockey supplement Rule 24 (a)
“ It is mandatory for all minor ball hockey players to wear protective shin pads”
We as West Coast Minor Ball Hockey cannot weaken rule that is written in the CBHA rulebook. Thus all association players will be wearing shin pads. The shin pads will be worn as per rule 24 (a) Note 2 of the CBHA 2009-2010 rulebook. As per the rulebook, “after one warning by the referee, a minor penalty for illegal equipment shall be imposed on the offending player for any subsequent violation of this rule”
This will be reinforced with the referees during the upcoming referee clinics.
